No - it is not refreshing - it is uninformed. A realistic goal would be to keep jobs here by improving the corporate economic environment.

The corporate economic environment is not in any way better in India than they are over here in the US. The European companies instead have struck a balance between their moral obligations to their societies against the desire to work for pure profit alone.

I will concede that environmental regulations in countries such as India and even European countries are not as strict as it is here in the US. Consequently, we had the Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal.

Besides, we have had that flight of jobs, the shift in wealth and consequently the decay of the level of the standard of living here in the US. That should preclude any discussion on the wisdom of a policy that encourages the flight of US jobs to other countries.
