America just recognized a winner.

One of ours just made it into the upper echelon.
USASOC is the intermediate HQ between SF Command and USSOCOM.

Then Colonel, John Mulholland led the 5th US Special Forces Group on the initial infiltration into Afghanistan shortly after 9/11. He orchestrated the initial defeat of the Taliban. It was one of his A teams that linked up with and provided support to Karzai.

No other US Army unit other than Special Forces could have performed and succeeded at this brilliant Unconventional Warfare mission.

Mulholland had the afghan mission well in hand....then along came the army. You know the rest of the story.

I am very proud of the 5th Special Forces Group. I served in "B" company in 62 and 63 and in "C" Co in 68 and 69.
