There are some choices that are missing in this Wall St. Journal list that are well known.

The choices are all of the candidates who ran for the Republican Nomination. The whole list of primary candidates is qualified and talented-------Guiliani, Romney, Tancredo, Hunter, Thompson, Huckabee, and Ron Paul---did I miss anyone?

McCain could also look beyond the list to such well knowns as Condoleezza Rice, Newt Gingrich, Elizabeth Dole and George Allen-----and why not throw in Laura Bush's name if Hillary can run, why not Laura?

Considering who will be the Dem nominees:

Assuming Obama is the nominee, Hillary could still be his running mate. If Obama were to reach out for sake of argument to Pelosi or another woman, he would lose Hillary's supporters---------politically he can't disc Hillary for another woman running mate.

If Hillary is not on the Dem ticket that throws New York wide open unless Obama has a New York running mate. Spitzer not a possibility now. James Webb's name gets mentioned often.

Chuck Hagel's name keeps getting mentioned, but I can't figure out which party.

Guiliani becomes a possibility for the Republicans-----New York has tried numerous times to have a President or Vice President----New Yorkers might support Guiliani because of this single reason.

Then there is Bloomberg with his millions waiting in the wings.

Just considering possibilities
