I could see having a second home somewhere else when I retire

My main interest in Canada was the climate. I like the Pacific Northwest because I don't tolerate heat and humidity at all. The US part of it doesn't have cities near the ocean, which I also love. So Vancouver island seemed ideal.

I can't imagine having two homes. Too much hassle for this retired lady. I set up a second home of sorts in Tucson recently while caring for my dad and there was a lot of attached hassle. Second homes are fine for snowbirds, I guess, but I dislike the warm weather so that doesn't apply to me.

as tacky as it is

Florida has its charms. I take an occasional spa trip to Florida. There's something about the feel of the place that satisfies the soul, my soul, at least. The air is soft and I like the color, aqua. <g>
