Yes....I don't think the gulf is wider. BUT now we know that there was a greater gulf than we thought previously. Malcom X and Farrakham followers are more than we thought. And they are very loud, and shrill American hater race-baiters. Just listen to the New Black Panthers (see their website) for instance. Wright just highlighted the problem to me.

For any so-called Pastor, to spew such trash from any pulpit, is simply what is so shocking to most of us. MOST especially so, that he is sponsoring a Candidate for President of the US, and that Candidate sponsors the Church where that Pastor preached for over 20 years.
