Why should it be different to become President?
It just is Mary, I never wrote the rules. Becoming the President is much more open to visionary or inspirational types than the other vocations you suggest, not to suggest that these are required qualities, but they are desirable ones in Leaders, when constructively focused, as Obama's seem to be. Obama has life experience and a quality of being that people apparently value, take it fwiw. Setting a bar (where?) might inadvertently kill the political process. Would you make them take exams too, it's not like there isn't a powerful vetting mechanism in place.
but to say that her 8 years experience as first lady meant nothing is ridiculous.
I never said that, it's your imputation.
I had 2 or three college professors that were great thinkers and inspirational talkers. Maybe we should look elsewhere for our leaders
Indeed, I take it they were academic actors, Obama is a political one.
But, until that proves to work, it would only still be a crap shoot at best.
The odds in craps are probably better than those for any candidate single-handedly getting us out of the mess we're in. Neither McCain, nor Obama, nor Hilary, in fact none of us, come with a guarantee, but at least we get a throw. I'm ready to roll. |
