Tim, it just depends on what you want to measure. if you want to measure the ability of a country top generate dollars, it is spot on. No it isn't spot on. Unless your talking about nominal growth, and nominal GDP, you aren't just measuring or counting dollars. Your adjusting them. That adjustment gets thrown off if your counting getting a lot more for a little more as inflation.
