SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1997--
Oki Electric Industry signs distribution agreement to sell, market and support Unify's VISION and VISION/TP products in Japan
Unify Corporation (NASDAQ:UNFY), a leading provider of client/server software solutions for the development, deployment and management of core business applications for client/server networks and the Internet, announced today that Unify and Japanese industrial giant Oki Electric Industry have jointly completed the development of VISION/TP, an integration of Unify VISION and VISION/Web products with BEA Systems Tuxedo middleware.
In a press release by OKI Electric Industry, President Shiko Sawamura stated that VISION/TP will allow Oki to provide functionality that is essential to the development of mission-critical systems. VISION/TP effectively enables corporations to develop highly scaleable OLTP applications and run these applications on both enterprise networks and the Internet.
Unify VISION was selected over other leading development tools because of its superior client/server and Internet application development functionality. VISION/TP enables Oki to quickly and easily deliver high-volume, distributed, transaction processing applications such as electronic commerce and customer care to their large customer base of financial, telecommunications and manufacturing organizations. Using VISION/TP will give Oki's customer base the powerful monitoring and application management capabilities to push their business-critical applications forward.
Under the terms of this agreement Oki will sell, market and support Unify's VISION and VISION/TP products to the Japanese marketplace.
''We are excited about our close partnership with Oki Electric Industries and pleased that Oki has chosen VISION/TP as its premier application development solution,'' said Reza Mikailli, CEO of Unify Corporation. ''Integration of Unify's VISION and VISION/Web products with the Tuxedo middleware provides a powerful development platform for building robust OLTP client/server and Internet applications.''
