Both claim the respective fields of science they are bashing are "religions". You are a great example of this BTW.
For the last time, creationism is not just religion, it's prima facie, silly religion. Stories such as "dinosaurs on Noah's Ark" and the "Grand Canyon cut in 5,000 years" are on the same level of reality as Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.
Your particular red/green religion states that the world is undergoing a catastrophic warming, caused by human activity (CO2 emissions in particular), and that it will continue unabated with horrendous consequences unless said emissions (i.e. western civilization and living standards) are drastically and immediately curtailed.
Any empirical evidence to the contrary (such as the current cooling trend, lack of hurricanes, solar activity, etc.) or doubts expressed as to your church dogma of future apocalyptic scenarios of inundated sea coasts, melting Antarctica, floods and droughts and fire and brimstone, are to be either ignored or summarily rejected. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil, case closed..
Both are overwhelmingly of the same political spectrum: Right-wing Conservatives.
And secular (in the spiritual sense) red/greens (Left-wing Liberals) mouth off plenty about science and rationality while simultaneously looking down their collective noses at the "unwashed goober holy rollers" and their creationism, while, at the same time, just as fervently praying to Algore and Mother Gaia and rigorously attempting to suppress any straying from red/green church doctrine by portraying it as sacrilegious heresy. |
