Honestly ask yourself the mission objectives - they are patrol, security and training. There are no strategic objectives/targets to take or destroy - the objective is to provide security - very different than major military operations.

They are "major" (160K troops) and they are "operations" and they are done by the "military". Thus, they are "major military operations". How much simpler do you need it?

And as i said if you think aggressive actions by US troops have ended, you are wrong. Do a google.
