Schwab Money Market Fund crashes.

This should scare us more than Bear Stearns, or Lehman going broke. Where in the hell can we put our (paper) money for safety? A damn short term ultra-safe bond fund at SCHWAB? melts down. Investors THOUGHT they were in a ultra-safe short term bond fund. It's down 13% year to date.

I know, I know- buy silver coins. The problem is- it's a bitch when you try to pay your mortgage with old silver dollars, or try to buy a used car for your grandaugheter with Kuggerands- it's just not practical. People can't even find a safe place to park cash in a 401K, IRA, or at the local bank. People think they're in safe money market funds- and the shit is levered to mortgage bonds that are going bust. Some 401k plans don't even have a damn safe place to park cash. There is a huge opportunity for anyone selling retirement packages to big companies to offer commodity, energy, metals, and pure short term treasury funds- without mortgage crap.
