A special board meeting has been called. And the SPECULATION is: 1) GTE is buying/merging with MCI 2) BT/MCI is making an offer to merge with GTE 3) AT&T is making an offer to merge GTE 4) There could be a major announcement involving GTE tomorrow. This is something very interesting. GTE stock had unusual activity right before the close: dljdirect.com In addition, AT&T stock showed unusual activity with high volome too: dljdirect.com I just hope that AT&T won't miss the boat to BT/MCI. It could be a bidding war for GTE which is good for GTE shareholders. Again, just one man's opinion!!! DO NOT invest based on this unconfirmed information and my personal opinion.
