On Monday, son called one office, and found the guy who was doing the writing was NOT the owner....Another scam for money.... Wonder how often this kind of thing happens???

Actually, this happened not too long ago with a rental in King or SnoCo. Someone placed an ad, met the folks, showed them the place (probably had scammed a key) and took first, last month's rent and deposit, and promptly disappeared. Real owner showed up and said "what the hell are you doing in my house?"

Unfortunately for the renters, they were out of luck.

I like Craiglist. I've bought a car that was listed there. I doubt I'd rent an apartment using the list, or if I did, I'd ask for proof the person doing the renting owned the place.

BTW, anything, and I mean anything, with someone "in Africa" should set the BS detectors vibrating. And, no, I'm not being racist here.
