Which means that 99.17% of ALL mortgages in America- are NOT in foreclosure.

Also, on that chart I posted- stockcharts.com cut off the early years. The DOW moved from 1546 in Jan. 1986 up to 3168 by Dec. 1991. It doubled during the years of the S&L crisis, even though housing starts dropped from 1.8 to 1 million. People find other work. We lost millions of manufacturing jobs all through the 1980s and 1990s, and look what the DOW did.
