Seriously, there's a huge chunk of the party, i.e. blue-dog democrats, that are socially moderate and fiscally conservative.

We view the budget deficits and mountainous govt. debt that began with Reagan as irresponsible and dangerous. So do alot of moderate Republicans. As a typical blue-dog, my hope has been that the Dem party would re-define itself and assume this centrist posture. Possibly pulling in moderate Rs in the process.

I don't want any new social programs or any more tax cuts, even for the middle class. We have programs in place that need shoring up.

My only exception would be a single-payer universal health plan, but this is not the direction either Hillary or Obama want to go, soooooooooooooooooo I'm left in a quandary there.
