A strong academic case can be made that a single-payer system can be designed so as to pay for itself or come so close to it that very little government spending need be involved.

You have to start with the income statements of a typical health insurance company to understand why this is so. In reading your many posts on the subject of health care, I've always had the impression you don't quite understand this.

I would argue a single-payer approach is the epitome of blue-doggy. It's more responsible fiscally because it's a cheaper approach than what Hillary and Obama want to do.
