Well the Iraq war maybe? Or return of our government to the people from the hands of special interest. Or to get the government out of our private lives. Or to take on GWarming. Re the world's guardian, you are substituting nannying for fighting. I didn't put a "just" in there because there's a significant difference there, but both are being "the world's guardian."

Well you can see - there are other reasons.

But my question was about joining the Democratic Party rather than just favoring it, which you can do as an independent. What about that?
