Probably. I remember people getting excited about Kennedy. And McGovern, IIRC. I don't think there's anything insulting about making reference to that. And then there were the unions back in the day. They were a big draw. Or maybe that was more a shove. <g>

Once in, people tend to stick. Inertia, at the very least.

The reason I've been asking is that I can't recall joining anything since I was a kid. I don't really understand this joining phenomenon. I am a curious soul. So I ask questions. I don't see any point in joining a party unless you seek employment in the political arena. I keep hoping someone will say something that I can understand if not relate to.

EDIT: I guess if you want to vote in primaries and your state requires you to register with a party. Forgot about that.
