The fire was reported at about 1:40 a.m. at the seven-story Atrium Regency Apartments on Glenmont near Chimney Rock. The first crews that arrived found flames coming from the roof and a second alarm was called before the flames were brought under control. Badri Vasista, 20, a student who lives on the sixth floor, said his apartment was in good condition after the fire. ``The police came and told all of us to get out and that there was a big fire,'' he said. Residents saw black smoke coming from the roof when they got out of the building, he said. The fire appeared to have been confined mainly to the upper back portion of the building, but no details were available on the extent of the damage. No injuries were reported.
