I came across some of Steele's commentary recently in the WSJ on Obama as 'bargainer' and found it fascinating. I could identify somewhat with it myself as a female breaking into the Wall Street world in the early 80s.

I think Steele has analyzed Obama pretty well here, or at least made some reasonable observations. It won't keep me from voting for him, but it reminds me that I wish Obama were older, more pragmatic, and more seasoned.

Some of the equivocation by Obama that Steele points out is typical of a newbie politician who hasn't had to make the touch choices required by the job. Choices that always must bring disappointment or even hardship to a certain special interest group.
