Company will take part in multi-vendor interoperability showcase; leaders will speak on backhauling mobile WiMAX and cell site backhaul

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Stratex Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSTX - News), the leading independent supplier of turnkey wireless transmission solutions, will introduce its newest digital microwave radio, the TRuepoint® 6400, at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas April 1-3.

The TRuepoint 6400 provides the highest transmission power and system gain performance in its class. Designed for all-indoor configurations for backhaul and trunking of mobile, public safety, utility and local/state government networks, it supports flexible, software-selectable transport of DS1, DS3, OC- 3/SONET and native Ethernet data, with a maximum of 180 Mbps per radio channel. Radio frequency coverage includes 6 GHz, 7/8 GHz, 10 GHz and 11 GHz FCC and NTIA frequency bands, as well as the 5.8 GHz UNII unlicensed band.

Harris Stratex Networks' Eclipse Carrier Ethernet at Center of EANTC Showcase

The company will take part in the Mobile Backhaul Interoperability Test and Showcase, located in booth #4119, organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) and supported by both the IP/MPLS Forum and the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). Harris Stratex will demonstrate the ability of the Eclipse® Carrier Ethernet over Wireless(TM) solution to deliver the functionality, performance and resilience required for tomorrow's next- generation backhaul requirements by operating seamlessly within an MPLS, TMPLS and PBBTE network environment during the showcase.

Eclipse supports side-by-side native transport of both TDM and Carrier Ethernet over the same link, an essential capability for operators seeking a smooth, cost-effective migration path to next-generation packet-based networking with broadband service offerings. The Eclipse platform's Liquid Bandwidth capability allows available capacity to be allocated to either voice or data traffic through software control.

Panel Sessions Highlight Harris Stratex Leadership in Backhaul Technology

Randy Jenkins, Harris Stratex director, North America marketing, will participate in the panel discussion "Scaling for the Future: Backhauling Mobile WiMAX," from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2 in Room N245 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. This panel will focus on the status of mobile WiMAX as an IP-based and data-centric network, and how it can sidestep the backhaul challenges of traditional cellular networks by using next-generation backhaul solutions.
