Interesting bit on chinese interest in silver pogo, thanks, i missed that Fekete piece the first time around - Message 24440396

The only strong silver bug i knew pre-internet would go on at length about how much silver the chinese likely still have, and how much they still prize it ... silver was the only real money in the culture right up until the communists took control, gold too but that was for the mucky-mucks, the great majority of people never saw any ... likely to be a far stronger impulse than with latinos, for whom 'la plata' is a synonym for money but only a figure of speech now, for all that don Hugo tries with those Libertades it's not taking, really ... pity, because that's largely mexican silver over there in China - the port of Acapulco was established as a terminus for the Manila galleons, something like half or more of mexican silver went east and was traded for luxury goods [some silk was said to be worth several times its weight in silver, there are old books written on this trade, still in libraries in el DF] - en.wikipedia.org

rmk.v - good points there on Roxmark too ... instead of more Kodiak i should add rmk instead, already got more than kxl, but it's real beat up and [arguably] has further to go
