"I would like to see women in every part of the Los Angeles Police Department and fully expect that we will see women on the SWAT unit," Bratton told reporters last week. "We have women fighting in our armed forces in Iraq, we have women in every other walk of life, and women will in fact have the opportunity in this department to serve in any capacity. I am committed to that."

Somebody needs to tell Bratton that his premise is wrong.
Our military does not train or use women for front-line combat.

There are no women in combat positions in the Infantry, Artillery. Armor, Special Forces, SEALS, MARSOC, etc.

Using women as an excuse to lower training standards for all will only expose them and other SWAT members to unnecessary danger.
His idea should collapse when the 1st SWAT member's death can be attributed to the lower training standards.

If Bratton stays on course, it will happen. It can be prevented.
