However, if Nokia had held 1 patent against Qualcomm's five, I doubt the difference would be material back then, unless and until they held a paid up license to Qualcomm's trump cards, in which case they would be in the position to offset something against nothing. 1992 was 16 years ago. One might reasonably speculate, that "some" of Nokias early "trump card" family jewel patents essential to the GSM standard, which were included in the 1992 SULA and then renewed, might have also expired by now.
