There certainly are democratic party Cuban-Americans, especially among the second or third generation, but the trump card to them is the embargo, and McCain/Guiliani were seen as having having stronger anti-Castro credentials than either of the dem candidates (among the dems they would certainly favor Clinton over Obama, if for no other reason than that Che/Cuban-flag thing). So the word was "vote for either McCain or Guiliani."

Now that Guiliani is out of the picture McCain will win that vote. There is no way that Hillary can out-macho McCain. The torture thing by itself is a big win for him.
