Since you cannot get at me to accidentally step on my toe, I will annoy you with my much-posted information that some years ago I bought some very large wads of Swiss Franc and Euro travelers checks. Last time I tried, one of my 200-euro cheques was cashed, no fee charged, at a branch of BNP on the Boulevard Haussmann. I did have to looked up the word for "to cash": it's encaisser.
