masked telecom operator

Thanks again for the mofet/ultracom info. Have a few more questions and some info to share (?), but need to work a little on background stuff first.

Had stumbled on the globes link for israeli business news a couple of months ago... and a search there on orckit turned up two interesting articles from July of last year. Again, as you are probably aware, apparently due to stock market instability, the orckit ipo had to be delayed.

As it turned out a short wait was all it took... but if the market hadn't settled down, there was a fall back plan: A "well-known" us telecom operator was ready to invest $15 million (10% of the guesstimated value of orckit at the time).

One of the articles mentioned that the center of interest in orctf was FastInternet. This leads me to believe that the telecom operator might well have been one whose trials orctf had been participating in. I believe that short list would include at least: GTE, PacBell, US West or Bell South. Any thoughts?

Although this is old news, my thinking here is that ....a relationship which had developed that far, might bear other fruit in the future...

BTW... have tried questioning orctf about current USA trials, but they decline to comment (other than saying orctf/fujitsu are involved in several) citing other party's reluctance to publicize. Any info here? Same list? additions/deletions?

Best wishes/thanks
