In any case this is not going to be a publicly traded company, at least not for awhile, so it really doesn't make much difference what INTC/STM come up with as a valuation. Because it will be privately held you can bet there will be no reporting about how the company is doing. Just an indecipherable line item figure combined with other items in INTC's and STM's income statement. Nothing really changes. All this does is remove the visibility from INTC's and STM's earning reports and reduce the number of nasty questions analysts occasionally ask in the CCs.
