Back in the tech bubble days, a semi analyst from Salomon got death threats after a down grade (John Joseph, maybe). Apparently bulls love free markets and analysts when markets go up, but they tend to turn on you when the markets go south. Oh yeah, Volker also got death threats when he jacked the Fed Funds to 20 percent-ish during the Fed's finest hour.... It's a jungle out there. Personally, I'm happy Meredith has a body guard so she can keep up the good work free from fear.
