Myself and a few others received some very graphic death threats by an insider on Raging Bull board in 1999 when we questioned a scam stock. Real adventures back then.

RB purged their boards of several years of messages to remove any potential liability. I believe there were some shady characters within RB or they were being coerced/extorted to control the tone of the posts. Hundreds of millions of dollars were at stake as the pump and dump took place, and that was just one of thousands .

Message boards, being relatively new, were very influential during the bubble. An enlightening time if nothing else. There are good reasons to maintain anonymity. You never know.
