iraq is bk ing this country That's ridiculous.. What's BK'ing this country is the unfettered Federal entitlement system.. Over 60% of the Federal budget is PERMANENTLY allocated to entitlements.. The war in Iraq will be temporary... And besides.. People who rant about $4 Trillion spent in Iraq are trying to include the annual FIXED costs of our military that would be paid regardless of whether we were at war, or at peace (payroll.. etc). The actual approximate cost is more like this over the last 5 years: costofwar.com That's about $100 Billion per year. So if we run the projected $400 million budget deficit in 2009, only 1/4 of that will be due to the war in Iraq. So that begs the question of where the other $300 million is being spent? Hawk
