to other people reading this thread, (not Hawkmoon): This is the current thinking among Iraq supporters- from Hawks post: that $3.5 Trillion had to be spent just to maintain the force-structure we have. The ENTIRE NATIONAL DEBT in 2000 was about 3.5 trillion. en.wikipedia.org According to US military apologists, the USA needs to double the entire national debt every decade just to pay for the military. How long with the US last as a nation doubling its national debt every decade? About another 4-5 decades tops.
