Yep, I remember it too. Remember the "see-through" high rise office buildings in downtown Houston - once a tenant moved out, they would take down all the walls just to get the jump on any potential client that might come along. From any high rise you could look right through the vacant floors in neighboring buildings.

And there were a lot of them. I remember oil company executives that saw their commuting times to downtown drop from an hour back to 15 minutes, a straight reduction in traffic count from all the failed business.

Don't want to see that again and ironically, it kind of looks like Houston's 1986 innoculation may help it weather this crisis.
