The man made famines were indeed deliberate mass murder (I'm not sure if they technically qualifies as genocide, but they where on the same sort of scale as genocides). They where however mass murder done to help extend central planning.

If you want evidence of the direct failure of central planning its not exactly like its hard to find.

And they had an objective case that capitalism has problems.

Not exactly. I'm not saying it doesn't have problems (which would be essentially to say its perfect, and it isn't), but the economic problems of the time had a lot more to do with government action (at least if you count the fed as "government", and I think you should)
