Ken,

I guess the chip Cyrix is describing will have to use PCI or AGP to get to the frame buffer, but Cyrix has another chip, called MediaGX that eventually will this technology.
MediaGX is an integrated chip that has CPU, graphics, audio, memory, PCI controller all on a chip. This chip uses UMA type architecture, where the graphics card portion of CPU uses the main system memory. So when MediaGX gets this technology, CPU will communicate with the frame buffer at the same speed it communicates with system memory.
My guess is that MediaGX will get this technology in 1H or 2H99.
