I had Windows update set to let me decide what to download. I started an upgrade to Vista SP1. I canceled it. Than later it showed up in Windows Update again but wouldn't download. I changed my settings to automatically download, and on next reboot, it downloaded, and I started and finished the install. On the first automatic reboot my internet connection wouldn't work. I rebooted again and the system was unstable. I rebooted again and everything has worked fine since then.
