DAK: I have only very simplistic views regarding your queries on recession, asset deflation and gold.

One, the strength of the U.S. slowdown is uncertain to me, for now a full blown recession may be in the works but we will find out in hindsight what the numbers reveal. I think the Fed spiggot may hold it to a shallow event.

Two, so far the only deflation of any note is in the housing market.

Three, all the reasons for the increase in POG seem intact to me, emerging 3rd world demand, fiat currency debasement and dwindling mine supply combined with difficult reserve replacement.

So, I continue to view gold as a good place to be, my juniors, another matter because the financial crisis has shaken the markets and restricted speculative money flows.

Cheers,
Ogi
