OT: re: March '06 Turbotax vs. accountant discussion:

Thanks once again, guys, for assistance/opinions regarding Turbotax. My 3rd year with Turbotax, and as suggested to me here, it has gotten easier after that first year. Fastest and easiest time I've experienced to get my stuff into proper format or to get an okay output from Turbotax (including the dreaded AMT amount which Turbotax seems to calculate seamlessly. AMT remains though, a black hole to me that sucks in money.) Whole process is easier than dealing with my accountant.
My return has Sch. D stuff, couple K-1's, royalty income, real estate. (Perhaps just by luck, my K-1's provide numbers in boxes that Turbotax looks for. No calculations required by me (or so I am assuming).)

My plan is to go to my accountant and let him input into his computer all the stuff that he requires from my stuff and from Turbotax's reports. Somewhere between my accountant's opinions and the battle of the computers, I'll wind up with a fed and state income tax report that I'll submit.

I just need Fido, others to now stop sending me corrected 1099's, etc. -g-
