I don't think anyone is suggesting that shorting has been the cause of weakness in our juniors. The suggestion is only that hedge funds are shorting juniors for the purpose of their hedges because the juniors are are underperforming the seniors.

IF the juniors begin to outperform the seniors, the hedgers might be expected to change or reverse their hedges. It may be wishful thinking, but some charts indicate that this change in trend may be happening. Certain juniors that have in the past been outperformed by seniors are showing signs of reversal.... I think. If it is unlikely that this change will occur, one should buy the seniors, I suppose.
