As you said, I think too, that both headlines are "correct" -
high-end phones probably more down than many anticipated and
low-mid range phones follow probably "normal" seasonal patterns
(could be also a bit better)
forms. As you said too, "we" play mostly in the last part of
the market now.
As one example how high-end drops could look like, take a view
here for iPhone estimates:

Even as iPhone is new and ramps up, march 08 quarter vol. seems
15% down QoQ. Its only an analyst estimate, but I could
imagine, that most high-end phones are probably down in 20%
range QoQ. Could be, that most manuf. guys thought, the market
will be better. I really don't know, how this will or will
not effect Spansion and what SPSN already anticipated in the
months before.
