It is truly a joke. After asking a TSA guy several trips ago how it is determined who is pulled aside for the cavity search and was told it was at random I thought we are no safer today then pre 9-11 just much more inconvenienced. Actually a pilot I know said the only reason he feels safer today then pre 9-11 is he doesn't think passengers will allow someone to take over a plane anymore. He said the TSA is known in the industry as thousands standing around and gives him no comfort what so ever.
