TJ, gold is a cult, just a very large one. The printing press enabled the new type of money called paper to be produced, en masse, without limit, as shown many times. The pixelation process turbo-charged the paper printing process so Big Ben can deliver bales of the stuff with the click of a mouse.

Mq's amazing new invention will make both obsolete, other than for atavistic villagers.

As for seeing souls, judging by subsequent actions, King George II did not see a fully fledged fan club member. The Shanghai Greater East Asian Co-operation Sphere is just more of the same. Plus ca change...

What USA is doing in Iraq is the same as what China is doing in Tibet, Taiwan, in Moslem and Falun Gong, namely 'assimilation', or more normally, historically, it's called conquest, power, property, peerage. It's just the nature of the beast. We hear less about human rights in China while King George II is specifically authorizing water-boarding which is not torture, which means it's a fair interview technique which King George II is happy to have done to any Americans such as himself, his wife and descendants.

He perhaps thinks of torture as pain-inducing rather than fear-enhancing. That's a reasonable distinction. In that case, mock executions wouldn't be torture. That's dubious. I would experience fear, I suppose, as I did when once experiencing a mock execution - the wire whip in the face was less painful than the fear of execution as I recall. My memory is more of the threat than the actual whip.

If Shanghai and Moscow people don't wish to buy India's better products than the Greater East Asian gang produces, or New Zealand's produce, then that's their problem. It's the same as the USA refusing to import NZ steel and sheep. China was the next bidder in line and Americans had to buy more expensive or lower quality local/other products.

Gangs are as old as the hills, and it's not surprising that Chinese, Russians and associates form one. Mao tried it decades ago, but found the soul of the USSR led to war on their border anyway, rather than with the USA.

If Russia "chokes" Europe on gas supplies, then that's a problem for Russia, which is not known to be in the rich league of nations. It might turn out that Russia needs the money more than Europe needs the gas, but of course it would be bad for both.
