What is deflating is the credibility of people who spew this garbage and the intelligence of those who believe it. The US has a pump -- we pump dollars into the global economy hoping that the rest of the world will ignore the absolutely incomprehensible size of our current account deficit and will continue ad nauseam to accept dollars for goods and services. No more -- the world is now saying they will no longer go along with this farce -- and we will pay more for everything as a result. Deflation? Do I laugh or vomit?
