I find Richard Russell a fascinating newsletter writer. The reason I ask on this thread, is I know that Brinker is well aware of Russell and shortly after Russell changed his view that we are not in a secular bear any longer, but a secular bull, Bob changed his long-term held belief that we are back in a secular bull. The difference between Brinker and Russell on this point, was that Brinker retroactively designated the end of the secular bear to a year before or so that he made the announcement. I don't know if Russell's views played into Brinker's decision or not. And I don't know what Russell's current views are on that score as of today.

One thing that bothers me is Brinker used to talk about his theory that we were in a cyclical bull market within the context of a secular bear market constantly on the radio. However, since the day he changed his position on the secular bear market (to secular bull), he hasn't once mentioned it on the radio -- and that has been a very long time. - David
