What do you think has been accomplished in Iraq, exactly? I am not being naive. I just don't see moving Iran into an increasingly powerful position (which can't be denied) is such a great achievement.
Don't believe all the doom and gloom hyped by the anti American media... frankly, I find it sad that you have to ask at this late date what accomplishments have been made in Iraq... this is not a reflection on you personally, but an indication of how far and widespread the hate-Bush media and liberals in this country have gone to destroy America's accomplishments... if you really want to know what is "beneath contempt," then lift up your eyes to just a few of the things we've been able to accomplish that is not widely reported in the media in our own country...

- - The Iraqi government now employs 1.2 million Iraqi people...
- - 3100 schools have already been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation, 263 schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been built in Iraq...
- - Iraq's higher educational structure now consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers...
- - 225 Iraq students departed for the United States since January 2004 for the re-established Fulbright Exchange program...
- - The Iraqi Navy is fully operational. They have 5 100-foot patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment...
- - Iraq's Air Force already consists of three operation squadrons, 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 bell jet rangers...
- - Iraq now has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando Battalion...
- - The Iraqi Police Service currently has over 55,000 fully trained and equipped police officers...

The list goes on... you may know about troop casualties and deaths because that's all you hear... but how much of the above list have you heard reported in the "fair and balanced" mainstream press?
