Novell challenges Microsoft where it counts, in the marketplace. Novell has completed a $1,500,000 sale to the New South Wales Department of School Education. biz.yahoo.com Frances Asher said: ''A major factor in deciding to build this network with Novell was the proven strength of Novell's Directory Service. It has the power to handle a large directory such as ours and it can scale across the enterprise. ''NDS also works with Novell's ManageWise software to allow us to support and maintain the school file servers remotely. This allows the Department to share its network support resources across the state and it will certainly be a much smaller support team than would normally be considered necessary for a network of more than 115,000 users and 2,500 file servers.'' What other company can wire up 115,000 users in 2,200 schools and deliver Novell's level of performance? The answer has to be none, zero. There's no contest.
