Paul,

Realizing that this really does not belong on this thread, I however feel compeled to answer you...

Dear Oprah:

I can only hope to be as successful as she is.

Obviously, going to college hasn't educated you.

I'm not out yet, but so far, I feel I've learned quite a bit about other people.

Have you ever heard of elementary school? Do you know when children attend it? For how long?

Yes I have heard of it, Children attend it before going on to college or a job (most of them do), and it generally lasts 12 years.

You are most likely harboring some deep psychological rejection problems due to your own father's neglect of you.

I find it interesting that you return my attack on your parenting skills with a similar attack on my parents because of the fact you could not strike back on equal grounds (me not being a parent).

For that, I am sorry. Perhaps he was justified. I suggest you take this problem up with him - accusing others of this same neglect will not solve your childhood problems - which apparently remain unsolved.

I am not accusing, you were the one who mentioned that your children play video games. As a child I was not even allowed to watch television on schoolnights, most parents now days do not want to deal with their children so they plop them in front of the tube and buy them sonic or mario as companions.

But don't assume every father neglects their children as your father has done to you.

Ironic that you are the one making wild assumptions in this statement, you yourself are proving with the amount of time you waste posting here that you are not spending time with your children.

Again, he may have had justification.

Certainly, it can be considered honorable that the father be away from his children because he is providing them with a greater good (money to pay bills and such).

Especially when you seem to be clueless as to when children are home and when they're at school or when they're asleep.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not quite sure what you meant by this last line.

You certainly seem upset over this, would it help if I apologize?

Alex
