Not to forget that the exporting sector - a bright spot - requires transportation.

Dow Theory I think was developed on the assumption that the transport sector involved primarily domestic transportation. I have not seen Richard Russell discuss this though he seems to be looking for a reason to explain the failure of transports to go down.
