Candidate Clinton to Richardson: 'Barack Obama Can't Win'
April 02, 2008 7:39 PM

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and former President Bill Clinton are making very direct arguments to Democratic superdelegates, starkly insisting Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., cannot win a general election against presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

Sources with direct knowledge of the conversation between Sen. Clinton and Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M., prior to the Governor's endorsement of Obama say she told him flatly, "He cannot win, Bill. He cannot win."

I said I'd say more about the
why, well here it is:

Remember when Hillary surprised everyone (except me, I guess) by winning NH? Many NH women didn't tell anyone they'd be voting for Hillary, nor did they admit it to the exit pollers.

Well, hardcore racists will be coming out of the woodwork to vote Obama down vs. McCain. They won't tell anyone ahead of time, of course, it's just too taboo.

But Hillary knows what's going to happen -- although she can't say it in so many words, of course. She knows it, and she hopes the DNC comes to its senses before it's too late.

I'm not saying it's a sure thing the DNC will come around to this view, but I am saying it's a good bet.

Btw, Gore's stock has quadrupled recently. I overlooked that opportunity entirely. Could have had him at 1 in February, now he's trading at 4.5. There might still be a play there, but I'm too far behind the curve on that one.
