thwerth,

Most of the SPACs have taken a hit along with the general market. When I updated my schedules, I was surprised to see that they have actually out performed the general market.

I think that the future SPACs will follow Goldman's lead and reduce the amount of shares given to the founders. Also, about a year ago the SPACs going public started raising the percentage of shareholders that could block a transaction from 20% to as high as 40%. That should increase the number of deals that get approved, which is not necessarily a good thing. A bad deal is still a bad deal.

Global Ship Lease made an attempt to go public in November 2007. The prospectus can be found here:

sec.gov

Shipping companies have done relatively well over the last several years. The fact that Global Ship Lease was IPO-ready should make it easier to complete the proxy materials.

Regards,

Glenn
